“Do You Not Get Bored Of Eating The Same Food Each Day”
I eat similar meals most days, eggs for breakfast, smoothie for lunch and a select of vegetables and beans for dinner (with the odd piece of meat)
Every few weeks I’ll change it up, add some new spice, maybe some new ingredients or change how I cook something.
It’s not like I’m eating food that I hate and tastes bad, it’s the complete opposite, I really like it and it’s delicious, I just so happen to cook it by the pot full and eat “actually” portion sizes so I get like 8–9 separate portions.
I remember I was in work and a colleague asked me “do you not get bored eating the same food all the time” which I replied with “do you not get bored eating Mc Donald's chicken nuggets all the time”, (she got them most days before work) and she just said “very good point.”
Eating the same foods isn’t boring, it actually makes sense, having to choose what you have to eat each day can be very time consuming and expensive if you haven’t got ingredients on hand.
Humans are habitual creatures, our weeks are generally very similar, why shouldn't our meals be?
If you can cook something you enjoy, you can cook double it, treble it, even quadruple it! Doesn’t mean you have to eat it each day back to back. You can refrigerator and freezer some foods and they will taste just as good.
What you have to weigh up is taste over time, yes freshly prepared food will always taste better, but the time to make it might not always be available.
