8reps and 6sets of phone pick ups… GTFO

There is a list of things that annoy me at the Gym, but people using their phone while sitting on equipment or just using their phone more than the actual equipment is very high up on my list.

I use my phone in the gym, I have a timer and my notes app to track my exercises and weight that I lifted, I do not check my social media while I’m in the gym, for one very simple reason….

Have you ever noticed that while on your phone/social media that a quick minute can all of a sudden be 5 minutes… it’s like it passes and you don’t even notice that it’s been that long, it’s the opposite of a treadmill minute (they seem to last forever).

All those quick minutes you check your phone add up and your 45 minute workout could end up being longer than an hour.

On top of long workouts you are also delaying someone else’s workout, they are waiting for you to finish scrolling and using the machine/equipment then hopefully wipe it down… all extra minutes to both of your time in the Gym.

Do people not spend enough time on social media at home that they feel the need to do it while working out too?

Here’s how to get a time efficient workout for yourself… unfortunately I can’t makes people around you do it, but if you share this maybe more people will see it and apply it too.

Phone on flight mode or do not disturb mode.

Yup that’s my magic hack, nothing fancy, but extremely effective.

When you’re working out, do that and only that, scoll when you’re lying on the sofa or your bed.
